In May, Prologis held its annual IMPACT Day, a worldwide day for community service and social engagement. The entire team in Germany, with a total of around 65 people, were involved at four company locations: In Düsseldorf, Munich, Berlin and Hamburg, Prologis employees came together to support various nonprofit organizations and make a positive contribution in their communities.
In Düsseldorf, the team volunteered for the third year in a row with Kinderhilfezentrum Düsseldorf, a children's aid center, and improved the facility grounds by gardening and making repairs. In addition, Björn Thiemann, senior vice president, regional head Northern Europe, presented the organization with a donation. Kinderhilfezentrum supports children and young people whose parents are in need. “IMPACT Day is a welcome occasion for us to roll up our sleeves and work for charity,” Björn Thiemann said. “In Germany, we are headquartered in Düsseldorf, and it feels good to be active as part of the community and make a positive contribution to our city. Working in the fresh air also strengthens our team spirit.”
The Prologis team in Munich supported Münchner Tafel e.V., a nonprofit that provides food for more than 23,000 people in need every week. The team distributed food to the homeless and presented Münchner Tafel with a donation.
In Berlin, the team supported DRK Klinik Berlin Westend by renovating and cleaning a room to transform it into a kitchen where DRK will teach children with diabetes how to prepare suitable meals. They also donated to the organization.
CaFée mit Herz e.V. is a drop-in center and day shelter in Hamburg's St. Pauli district, offering homeless people and others in need a safe and comfortable space. The team in Hamburg volunteered at the facility, cleaning the entrance area and shelter, repairing holes and painting. The Hamburg team also made a donation to the nonprofit.
IMPACT Day is an important day for Prologis because it gives the company an opportunity to give back to society. By supporting various charitable organizations, Prologis inspires and sets an example for other companies to participate in charitable projects. IMPACT Day is just one of the many initiatives Prologis has launched to promote social responsibility and sustainability.
