Prologis is committed to local communities and good causes: The 12 European countries in which Prologis is active donated a total of 210,000 euros last year to numerous charitable organizations.
In Germany, in late 2021, we donated a total of 4,500 euros to charitable organizations that promote the well-being of people and the environment as part of the Dock Doors of Giving campaign, which takes place annually in December and involves all European countries in which Prologis operates.
The beneficiaries
We supported the Fulfil your Heart's Desires project of Diakonie Düsseldorf, which promotes social participation and tolerance, with 2,000 euros. The same amount went to the Düsseldorf organization Gemeinsam gegen Kälte (Together Against the Cold), which provides shelter for homeless people and others in need of help, particularly during the winter months. Another 500 euros went to the environmental protection efforts of the German Friends of the Earth partner BUND.
In addition, Prologis supported organizations that operate throughout Europe, such as the Red Cross, which is carrying out reconstruction work following the 2021 flood disaster that affected Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
“We have deep roots in North Rhine-Westphalia through our headquarters in Düsseldorf, which is one of the reasons we chose these two organizations in the state capital,” says Björn Thiemann, senior vice president, country manager Germany. “We not only plan our projects responsibly and sustainably, but also apply these standards to our social commitment. For this reason, we provide our employees with a contingent of hours each year to get involved at a local level for people in need and for a more sustainable future.”
