Prologis and Dealer Tire today celebrated the opening of a newly modernized 15,409-square-meter logistics facility in Gernsheim. The project marks a significant contribution to economy of the Rhein-Main region, providing space for Dealer Tire to manage and grow their business and creating local jobs.
Dealer Tire Europe GmbH, a service partner for automobile manufacturers and their dealer networks, has signed a long-term lease for the logistics space.
“The high quality, modern equipment, and prime location of this logistics space allow us to offer our customers in Europe top-tier, sustainable service,” said Daniel Ellerböck, Managing Director, Dealer Tire Europe GmbH.
Entry into the European Market
Over the past few months, Prologis has upgraded the property and tailored it to meet the needs of Dealer Tire, a long-standing customer in the U.S. Upgrades include new energy-efficient LED lighting and preparing the roof for future solar panel installation.

Expansion Underway
Prologis has also begun constructing a 9,910-square-meter expansion to the facility for Dealer Tire. The expansion is expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year. As a longtime leader of sustainable development, Prologis aims to achieve a DGNB Gold certification for the facility. A heat pump will power the new expansion, enabling the potential shift to entirely green energy for the building.
Solutions Beyond the Four Walls
To help support its operations, Dealer Tire will be using services and products from Prologis Essentials, including forklifts and the corresponding charging infrastructure, access control and alarm systems and office equipment. The exterior areas also will be equipped with charging stations for electric cars and bicycles. Prologis Essentials provides a one-stop shop for supply chain solutions, with services across operations, energy & sustainability, mobility and workforce.
