Andrea Keune, Assistant, Leasing & Customer Experience: Patience, Serenity and Creativity
Andrea Keune likes to take on new challenges. Before joining Prologis in 2012, she gained extensive experience in a variety of professional settings. After studying business administration at the University of Cologne, her career started with jobs at advertising agencies, where she wrote marketing copy, as well as lectures and speeches. Following a five-year break after the birth of her children, she moved into a part-time position in marketing and public relations management at a university, followed by jobs in two other marketing departments.
Finally, a turning point came: She wanted to return to work full time after parental leave and shift her focus from public relations to marketing and administrative work. The decision to join Prologis in 2012 made this possible. She also chose Prologis because of its international reach and interaction with different cultures. She started as assistant for the market officers, leasing and marketing. Today, she is assistant, leasing and customer experience.
Everything done right
She achieved her goal for more marketing and administration at Prologis. In her current position, her tasks include creating brochures, working on websites, organizing broker events, as well as editing, sending and filing contracts. Meetings, team coordination and telephone conversations with tenants, brokers and potential clients are also part of her daily work. She’s also surprised to find she travels quite a bit.
Her colleagues are convinced Andrea Keune is the right person for the job. They appreciate that she always goes above and beyond, supports other teams, works quickly and never loses sight of the big picture. She believes that qualities like patience, serenity, creativity and being solution oriented help with the job. Understanding other teams and their workflows is also important. Speaking of teams, she particularly enjoys team events, like one in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 2015, which she remembers for its great location and atmosphere.
Every logistics facility is different.
What Andrea Keune finds particularly exciting about working in logistics real estate is that logistics buildings can be designed so differently, even when they consist of only four walls and a roof. “Besides, it was because of my work that I first realized how important logistics is for our daily lives,” she says. So far, she is most enthusiastic about a project in Bruckberg in the greater Munich area, an extensive development of Prologis Park Munich East with approximately 144,000 square meters for the automotive industry, which she worked on from start to finish.
Andrea Keune recommends future applicants be authentic during the application process because it’s the only way to be sure they will really fit in with a team. In addition, strong English skills are important at Prologis. For the job itself, it helps to be flexible and open to change.
