Prologis has acquired a state-of-the-art logistics facility in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria. The 16,000 square meter building is located in the Pfuhler Ried Nord industrial park and is currently leased to an international logistics provider.
“Our goal is to strengthen our presence in the Swabian logistics region,” said Stefan Siegle, director, market officer, Prologis Germany. “With this acquisition, we have taken a significant step toward achieving this objective, given that the facility is in a well-established logistics hub in a prime location between Stuttgart and Munich.”
Adding Value for Customers
In addition to new developments, Prologis increasingly has its eye on acquiring existing buildings. “Purchasing industrial and logistics facilities allows us to expand our portfolio with buildings that are complementary to our own,” added Siegle. “This gives us the ability to offer our customers state-of-the-art logistics facilities in prime locations.”
The property, which comprises more than 30,000 square meters, is located on the B10 federal highway approximately 13 kilometers southwest of the A7 and A8 motorway interchanges. The container terminal in northern Ulm is nearby. In addition, Austria, Switzerland and Italy are all easily accessible from Neu-Ulm.
Designed for State-Of-The-Art and Long-Term Use
Consistent with its sustainability strategy, Prologis is committed to ensuring that its facilities are energy-efficient and can easily be used by a variety of tenants. The newly acquired logistics facility meets these requirements. It offers 640 square meters of office space, 38 dock levelers and is equipped with energy-efficient LED lighting, among other features. The facility can also be used 24/7. After completing minor renovation work, Prologis will keep the building in its portfolio for the long term.
