DÜSSELDORF (September 6, 2017) – Prologis, Inc. today announced that it has entered into two long-term lease agreements with Airbus, Europe’s largest aircraft manufacturer, for a total of 23,600 square meters in Hamburg. The logistics properties are located at Prologis Parks Hamburg-Hausbruch and Hamburg-Waltershof. Airbus will use the spaces as of January 1, 2018, for logistics processes for its production facility in Hamburg.
“The two properties’ outstanding building quality, the strategically well-situated location near the production facility and high standards of security offer the ideal conditions to further expand our presence in Hamburg,” said Dr. Ulrich Lampkemeyer, head of facility management & real estate Germany at Airbus.
Airbus will have approximately 13,100 square meters of space at its disposal at Prologis Park Hamburg-Hausbruch. The property is divided into 11,550 square meters of warehouse space, a 760 square meter mezzanine and 760 square meters of office space. With its own security service and additional access controls at the gate, the facility offers the highest standards of security.
The logistics facility at Prologis Park Hamburg-Waltershof encompasses an area of approximately 10,500 square meters. Airbus has 8,800 square meters of warehouse space, a 950 square meter mezzanine and 750 square meters of office space at its disposal. The property offers high standards of security. It is separate from the Waltershof Logistics Park and can be reached by its own access road.
“We are pleased to have been able to offer Airbus, Hamburg’s largest employer, two high-quality properties that meet the company’s needs,” said Philipp Feige, vice president, market officer, Prologis Germany. “Both properties meet the highest standards of sustainability—as an example, we are going to upgrade the Hamburg-Hausbruch facility with LED lighting before Airbus moves in.”
Prologis made it a top priority to protect resources and cut clients’ operating costs through sustainable construction and energy-efficient real estate. Prologis will take over the property management for both properties.
Prologis Park Hamburg-Waltershof and the Prologis Park Hamburg-Hausbruch are both ideally connected to the Port of Hamburg and have direct access to the A7 highway, the region’s north-south axis that connects to the A1 highway.
Prologis has a total of about 560,000 square meters of space in Hamburg divided across seven logistics parks with 28 properties.
