Düsseldorf, 20 February 2025 – Prologis has acquired a former industrial site spanning 110,970 square meters in Pforzheim. The company plans to revitalize the brownfield property and develop it into a 60,000 square meters comprising modern, future-ready logistics facility. This approach sustainably enhances an already developed site.
Southwestern Germany is one of the country’s most competitive real estate markets, where land for logistics is scarce and demand remains strong. Pforzheim sits at a key crossroads between Stuttgart and Karlsruhe, making it an attractive location for companies looking to optimize their supply chains and ensure efficient goods distribution. The region’s high population density and strong purchasing power further enhance its appeal, creating a strong demand for well-connected logistics space.
"With this transaction, we are expanding our network for customers in the Stuttgart region," says Philipp Feige, VP, head of Capital Deployment and co-managing director, Germany at Prologis. "We have strong interest from businesses looking for space in Pforzheim. The Stuttgart region offers excellent transport links, a dynamic economy and a strong consumer market. With a long-term development perspective and state-of-the-art logistics solutions, the new site offers ideal growth opportunities for businesses."
The city of Pforzheim welcomes the redevelopment of this key logistics site: "The planned redevelopment will support local businesses, create jobs and further strengthen Pforzheim as a business location," says Peter Boch, mayor of Pforzheim. "With Prologis as a committed investor and experienced real estate partner, this project will bring new economic momentum to our city. We look forward to working together closely with Prologis.”
